Dying Breath Time had lain strewn across the floor I had been broken beyond repair Every breath been a wretched curse Every movement been a painful chore Blood like a crimson brook Had flown abound and unbidden My contours had provided its path Only to leave behind a trail faint and dark Slowly it had slipped from my clutches The silken life, beloved of mine Time and Death, allies of an aged old Had tugged it from my weakened grasp Tattered remains of my soul Had screamed in anguish and torment Every good I made, every hurt I gave Disintegrated into nothing with my dying breath
